Description:Hales Hall was built in 1806 and extensive extensions were added in the mid 19th century. It belonged to the Buchanan family until the early 20th century. From 1916 it belonged to Ernest Byfield Hall (1877-1953).

Ernest Hall was Chairman of British Reinforced Concrete. He was also instrumental in popularising Friesian cattle in Britain, and was founder of the British Friesian Society.
